Here is a short description of the I2C/SPI Serial Interface Adapter Board for 1602 LCD Displays (PCF8574 module):
What it is: A small daughterboard that solder-mounts to the back of a standard 16x2 (or 20x4) character LCD to convert its parallel interface into a two-wire serial interface.
Key Benefit: Saves microcontroller pins—reduces the required connections to your microcontroller from 6—12 GPIO pins down to just 2 communication pins (SDA and SCL).
Key Features:
Onboard Potentiometer: Allows quick adjustment of LCD contrast.
Backlight Jumper: Lets you turn the LCD backlight on or off using a physical jumper or software pin control.
Configurable Address: Address pads (A0,A1,A2) allow changing the I2C address so you can chain multiple displays on the same bus.
Common Uses: Simplifies wiring when connecting LCD screens to Arduino, ESP32, STM32, and Raspberry Pi projects.
