A lovely full set of 12 New Silver (NS), also known as Nickel Silver, Argenta or German Silver.

These were purchased by my grandmother in Sweden in 1931, the year she got married.

My grandmother bought these because the golden sheen matched her gold rimmed coffee cups - they are for stirring sugar in the coffee only, not dessert spoons and not for digging in the sugar bowl - you need a sugar spoon for that ;-)

I speculate that they were made in Germany as I have seen similar cutlery from Germany.

They are very ornate, depicting a rose on the front and fleur-de-lis on the back.

It is becoming rare to find a full set of 12 these days!
