Sewing For Children - Singer Sewing Reference Library
1988. Hard cover in good condition with a previous owner's name inside.

Mixi Reference: My favorite thing in this book is the section on how to make those old towel bibs with the ribbed collars!

This is a nice retro book, it's mostly for sewing references, not a pattern book. It shows you lots of techniques for sewing with knits, as well as a whole section on sewing heirloom quality dresses. Yes, they actually show you how to make the dress on the cover, (but not with a pattern).

They show you how to stitch together tiny bits of lace and ribbon and piece it all with ruffles and pleats so that you too can have sweet as pie clothing.

The rest of the book has lovely picture that are mostly bright colored and checkered prints. Though the styles are outdated, the techniques are really nice, like ways to add plackets and other nice details to shirts. Plus tips on making clothing longer so that kids can wear them longer. I found this book pretty interesting for what it is- the outdated styles will make you smile, while the tips will make your clothing better.
