Description: Sailing ship interest. Neatly inscribed and signed by the author on the front free endpaper: " For Leila/ this book is autographed in friendship by the author/ Neil Campbell/ 5th. February 1948/ ( Printers' errors corrected by author) " The author's frontispiece photograph is also signed and dated by him.  There are a few hand written amendments to the text by the author.  Boards show a little edgewear and signs of use and top edge is dusted and lightly foxed and there is a bit of wear to the base of the spine. Else in very good condition. Chapter on South Africa, Sydney, the First World War, and all the sailing experiences of a man who spent a large part  his life under sail on the high seas in various large sailing ships.. Part of the collection of Leila Limington, who had a large number of books signed by Antarctic explorers including five signed by E.R.G.R. Evans.
