Like Furby, Shelby develops and responds to its surroundings the more time you spend with it. Shelby has a vocabulary of 180 words in Furbish, English, and its own special language--Shelbish. Shelby can communicate with Tiger Electronics's Furby, Furby Babies, Gizmo, and E.T. Interactive. Shelby plays hide-and-seek, a fortune-telling game, and knock-knock. If prompted with the correct secret codes, Shelby becomes Rude Shelby (with mumbling, belching, and the old Bronx cheer), Sick Shelby (with a lot of coughing, sneezing, and hiccuping), or Loving Shelby (with lots of kisses). With all the enhancements made to Shelby, this little clam has 70 percent more vocabulary and 50 percent more memory than Furby does, speaks three times the phrases, and contains more sensory input and double the number of built-in features that are unlocked through play.
