The Companhia Colonial de Navegação was a Portuguese shipping company that was founded in 1922 and merged into another company in 1974. Its ships carried freight as well as passengers.

The N / T Império was a Portuguese shipper. It belonged to the Companhia Colonial de Navegação (CCN), which it served between 1948 and 1973. There was a twin ship, the N / T Homeland. 

Colonial Navigation Company Service 
Between 1948 and 1974 the ship operated in the colonial career and also in the service of the State in the transport of troops during the Portuguese Colonial War. In 1966 it was used as a presidential vessel by the then president of the republic, Admiral Américo Tomás , for a trip between Lisbon and Leixões.
