We present to you guys, the officially licensed SIG SAUER 9x22mm P.A.K replica - the P320.
This gun comes prepacked in one of the neatest and best quality pistol boxes we've seen and handled. The box itself bears the official branding and the clips themselves are quite stiff, clicking open neatly and positively. The outlay inside of the box are neat and orderly - provision has been made for finger holes on each cut-out to remove the item lain-in. Most of the items as illustrated, does fit flush w/ the polyurethane foam, which comprises the bottom side of the case. The upper side of the case is lined out w/ eggtray foam, medium density, naturally just to cushion everything down in place.
We regret unfortunately, that the user manual is in German only, and as expected, it is neatly and professionally outlayed.
(The box does facilitate space for an additional/spare magazine and the space for it is already cut-out adjacent to the slot for the included magazine)
Inspecting the pistol itself now, we can see immediately that it oozes with quality and premium features, everything well built indeed. The stippling on all four panels of the handle is deep and pronounced, w/ a very positive feel, reminescent of 260 grit sanding paper, but w/ a polymer feel. Grasping this pistol, you'll immediately feel that its going nowhere, unless you intentionally will it so. The top part of the stippling on both side faces of the handle, is branded w/ the official SIG SAUER licensing, which is crowned w/ ambidexterous finger rests, that allows seating for both your thumb as well as your hand's first interdigital space (the space between your index and thumb, particularly the first joint on the index).
The slide has canted / sloping fingergrooves, both on the rear as well as the frontal section, seven each to be specific. Moreover, this blank gun is one of the few balnk guns we've seen that features an ambidextrous slide catch release. In front of this on the right hand face of the pistol, is the winged shaped lever which is your field strip pin. Just rotate it until it points out in a direction that you can grab ahold of it and pull it out. Thereafter, the slide should come right off.
The frame of the pistol is polymer and it does feature an underbarrel Picatinny railing w/ four slots. The buttplate of the magazine is straight and on its lopside, you'll find more SIG SAUER licensing.
This pistol is striker fired and from behind, you can see, once the slide is racked, that a red dot displays intentionally through a rectangular slot, to indicate that the pistol is cocked, which again, is a unique feature and certainly nifty, as only you can see that the pistol is cocked, unlike a hammer, which is more conspicious. There is a short beavertail nevertheless, for ergonomy presumably and also to maintain the "expected" appearance of a pistol which, without this feminine curve, might appear less stylish.
The trigger is polymer and the slack that needs to be taken up, is not much. The breaking point of the trigger is slightly hefty, though this is probably for the best, as this pistol has no safety that you can actuate.
Overall, we really like this pistol and the realism on it is incredible. The only giveaway feature, which is probably for the best, is the barrel blocker which has a raw aluminium colour and is highly visible from the front. Furthermore, the interior of the barrel's frontal end is threaded, to allow attachment for the included flare tip.
For maintenance, a twisted wire nylon bristle brush w/ a soft / rubberized tip is included, of proper quality, which can be used to swab out the breech.
