You are bidding on a signed, limited to 150 proofs, of an etching by Robert Herdman-Smith. As stated on the back, once the artist had completed the 150 proofs, he destroyed the original plate. Herdman-Smith was an English artist: 1879-1945. To the back of this picture, it gives the date of his birth, but not his demise, which would imply he was still alive when it was framed.  Herdman-Smith was a fellow of the Royal Society of Art. For a picture of this age, the image shows very little foxing, and primarily on the white surround.  It is nicely framed - what appears to be the original frame - behind glass. The picture, inclusive of frame and mount, measures  52cm x 42cm; the image, not measuring the mount, 27.5cm x 22 cm. This is a fairly large picture, so please add R55 for postage.
