Hardcover first published 1981 by Juta and Company Limited, in a worn but whole jacket, having a short tear into the rear top edge. Original blue cloth with white spine titling, cocked, marked in places, and with a surface scratch visible on the front. External page edges and cartographic endpapers lightly foxed and tanned. Pencil notes in a few places throughout. Tipped-in newspaper articles, one of which (Sunday Times, June 10 1984) relates how the author is "at the centre of a behind-the-scenes row in which he accuses leading university academics of deliberately suppressing controversial theories about the history of southern African blacks." The half-title pages contains a signed author dedication dated Nov 2984 to author A.R. Willcox.
