Hardcover published by Purnell & Sons, copyright date 1977. The jacket is whole, but edge-worn, creased and rubbed in places. The blue cloth boards with gilt titling are square and sharp. Apart from a small patch of stain to the top external page edges, the pages are clean and unmarked. The pairs of photographic plates between pages 270 and 271 and also between pages 206 207 are unopened along the top. Both fold-out maps are present and intact. This copy was signed by both authors on a pasted in presentation slip, and presented to Brigadier C.W. Germishuizen.
