The photographs contained in Pierre Crocquets newest book and exhibition On Africa Time are uplifting and show Africa in a positive light, yet remain true in context. They contain scenes of daily life photographed in an artistic and fresh way. Images from South Africa, Malawi, Namibia, Tanzania, Nigeria, Mozambique, Zambia and possibly Rwanda and Uganda will be featured. Pierre Crocquet was awarded the prestigious Mondi photographer of the year award 2003.

Text is included to complement the images. It is in the form of quotes from the people photographed and descriptions of the context in which they were photographed. It also contains the interpretations and perceptions of the photographer. The images give an accurate and complete picture of the moment captured.

Pierre Crocquets obsession with images inspired him to change from finance to photography. He worked as a chartered accountant for seven years in Johannesburg and London before studying photography at the London College of Printing. He is now a professional photographer, based in Cape Town and specialising in Africa. His work has appeared in a variety of international publications, including Singapore Strait Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Sunday Independent (South Africa), The Australian and The Irish Independent. He has published a coffee table book titled Us. It captures the character of South Africa: its quirks, wildness and innocence.
