Signed J.B.M. Herzog photograph, original, 1930, framed under glass, Herzog signature to left jacket sleeve, also photographer's signature to lower RH margin, with government coat of arms emboss to lower mount board, five word inscription & date to upper LH corner of mount, frame is 37.8 cms x 30.5 cms, photograph is 19.7 cms x 14.7 cms, condition: very good. 

General James Barry Munnik Hertzog , better known as Barry Hertzog, was a South African general and politician. He was a Boer commander during the Second Boer War who served as the third prime minister of the Union of South Africa from 1924 to 1939. Hertzog advocated for the development of Afrikaner culture and was determined to prevent Afrikaners from being excessively influenced by British culture. He founded the National Party in 1914.
