Description: Edwardian travel writing by the author, a British physician working in Egypt, who recounts his voyage through Abyssinia during 1902-3. Green cloth binding with blindstamped gilt medallion and lettering on the cover and gilt lettering on the spine. Signed inscription on free endpaper by the author "To Sir Horace Pinching, K.C.M.G. with the author's compliments. A.J. Hayes, January 1906". Interestingly, the recipient of the book, Sir Horace Pinching, was the Surgeon-General of the UK until his retirement to Switzerland in 1908, some 2 years after the book was signed in 1906. He later died there in 1935.
