Silk Cigarette Card - Nelson's Special Signal. BDS 1914 - 1918 and Lord Nelson's Prayer

Silk cigarette card  - BDVS series 11 no. 16  1914 - 1918. Nelson's Special signal - which sent the message to the rest of the ships in his fleet at the Battle of Trafalgar 1805, "England expects every man to do their duty". It has also been said to say "Engage the enemy more closely"

Lord Nelson's Prayer was spoken by him on the morning of the 21st October 1805 - The Battle of Trafalgar"

The prayer is a postcard printed by The Victory Museum, Portsmouth.
