Silver & Enamel 'Piazza San Marco' Souvenir Spoon (Venice)

This fine quality, antique, solid silver and beautifully enamelled souvenir spoon from Venice features a scene from the famous 'Piazza San Marco' (St. Marks Square) in the bowl and the 'Lion of St. Mark' on the top, with the words 'Pax Tibi Marc Evan'. The winged lion holds the Gospel of St. Mark with the inscription 'Pax tibi Marce, evangelista meus', translating to 'May Peace be with you, Mark, my evangelist'. The spoon is in excellent condition with lovely detail and colours and is stamped '800 SILVER' on the side. It measures 11cm in length and weighs 14,7g.
