This is a lovely GEORGIAN solid sugar tong which was made in London, England in 1830 by the illustrious Georgian silversmith, Joseph Willmore.They are in the plain fiddle pattern.The tongs way 3.5grams.They are in good condition with less than the usual surface scratching than you'd expect for their age.it has one tiny dink which can be sorted out by hand near the london hallmark but not noticed with the naked eye. hallmarked on the inside of the handle with j.w lion passant (sterling silver assay mark), leopard head, P, George III duty mark showing that it was hallmarked in London in 1830. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A lovelyGeorgian sugar tong from an illustrious silversmith in superb condition after over 179 years .
