Silver Shipwreck coin I was told that it was from the Merenstein shipwreck - but have no proof thereof. I would think the coin dates to the middle 1600's. It looks like a VOC "eagle" schelling, but I am not too sure. The coin is worn and pitted, as with most shipwreck coins - please see photos. The coin is 27mm in diameter. It is about 0.5mm in thickness. It weighs 3.085 grams. Signed for postage in SA, via the Post Office, at buyers own risk, will be R40. or Signed for postage in SA with Postnet, at buyers own risk, will be R99. I do combine postage at no extra cost. Please allow enough time for the 5 photos to download.
