SIM900 QUAD BAND GSM/GPRS SHIELD FOR ARDUINO
Product information
This is a SIM900 GSM/GPRS shield for the Arduino UNO, MEGA or Leonardo boards. It supports quad band 850/900/1800/1900MHZ communications frequencies and can be used in most countries around the world. The shield enables phone calls, SMS or data transfers to be made and provides on-board speaker and microphone sockets for this purpose. The shield is compatible with Arduino Uno, Mega and Leonardo serial communication pins and is configured/ controlled via UART using simple AT commands. The RX pin of the SIM900 connects to either pin D1 or D3 and the TX pin of the SIM900 connects to either pins D0, D2, D8 or D10 of the Arduino through the on-board jumper selection headers.
NOTE! Due to peak currents in excess of 2A being drawn by the shield, the Arduino board has to be powered from an external 9v/2A power adapter and not the USB port on your personal computer.
