Mari Mackie – Being Creative, being me!
From an early age I have always yearned to be able to be creative, whether through drawing, painting, decorating, dressmaking and or designing. Unfortunately in my younger days a good “secure” steady job with a pension was considered the only way.
However that part of me, deep down inside, the real me, always alive to the beauty of the Creation in which we live, thus my love and eye for the outdoors, nature, gardening, colours, textures, shapes and beauty together with the wanting to create, stayed high on my agenda.
Finally, an unforeseen wake-up call, although unpleasant at the time, allowed me to really explore my deep seated love for all things artistic and I literally started a whole new life. Being able to express my feelings with various mediums and in various ways became the most important aspect of my being.
My discovery of the social media, where I have been able to meet a whole bunch of really beautiful, funny, lovable, intelligent people from all over the world, share artistic and other ideas, learn and grow was an added bonus.
Although being a full time artist is not always plain sailing, the satisfaction and joy that I have finally gained by allowing the artist in me to come out is enormous.
Creating artworks, doing commissions, experimenting, having to make changes, re-do failures? Priceless!!!
Welcome to my world!
Enjoy your bidding!
