ILLUSTRATIONS	The first of 3 poetry volumes written and illustrated by slang-poet, graphic artist and vernacular conceptualist, Wopko Jensma, born 1939 and presumed dead after disappearing in 1993 after collecting routine medication at a hospital in Johannesburg. Jensma's art is ethnic, based on a theme only he has introduced. Lino printed images of animals drawn as characteristics of people. Wopko's poetry has a jazz feel to it. He was a staunch anti-apartheid supporter and his work was published by Ravan Press.
CONDITION	Please refer to the images, which are images taken of the actual book on offer here, to get an idea of condition. Book complete and in fair condition. The limp board wrapper has slight wear to it with wear to the top and bottom of the spine and a small stain to the bottom right of the text block. There is a name and date inscribed in pen on the front free end paper.
NOTES	In less than two decades of his productive and artistic life, Wopko produced amazing work which spanned different styles and genres. He was not only a struggle-poet. His poems reflected his own psyche and the world in which he lived which was delivered in a jazz impro like way. This feeling of ragged improvisations on life is the key of suffering.
