Condition: fair to good; printed on very thick paper, the text and illustartions are well preserved - with light foxing in places. The free endpapers have experienced some heavy browning and a previous owner dedication appears on the front pastedown. Fore- and bottom edges are uncut. The boards are well-worn and rubbed with bumped corners, spine heavily faded. A high quality reproduction etching by Albrecht Durer appears as the frontispiece, with other black-and-white sketches by E. J. Sullivan.
