Sipho lived in a small village with Mrs Mashanana. He called her Grandomother, although she was not really his grandmother, she had taken him home years before after both his parents had been killed in a bus accident. When Mrs Mashanana died, Sipho was left all alone, except for a mysterious address that might have been that of his family, and the yellow plastic purse with money which Grandmother had left him.

So off he went in search of his family in the distant big city. This book is about the strange events that befell him in his search, about his disappointments and good fortune, and about the people, both good and bad, that crossed his path.
