This edition is updated, expanded and contains a lot more photographs than the original.

Due to military cencorship in 1944, only a few photographs were included, but this edition now includes nearly 100 pictures, most of them now published for the first time.

This is one of the most dramatic and inspiring shipwreck (of the Dunedin Star) and rescue dramas of all time.
