A rare early title by Leipoldt, when he was the Medical Inspector of Schools in the Transvaal, and later the Cape, his first job in South Africa after qualifying as a doctor and travelling overseas. Only his second non-fiction book after a book on dietetics in 1911. Editions before this one are almost impossible to obtain as print runs were extremely low.
