The USB box is designed for IP and dvb reception via satellite.

Technisat skystar USB box is ideal for receiving and recording free-to-air digital satellite TV and radio programs on your PC. It offers excellent digital tuner sensitivity, allowing you to pick up channels and digital feeds other PC cards and set-top boxes can't.

The recording PVR (personal video recorder) function of this box means that, apart from receiving digital TV and radio programs via satellite, you can now also record these programs. Features such as starting or stopping recording at pre-set times (timer function) are also included, as is the option of programming the timer directly from electronic program guide data.

The USB design is another consequent in the development of the so successful SkyStar 2 design. This results in the very easy-to-install routine, due to the fact that the software for both devices is identical, detecting during setup automatically a PCI Bus or USB port interface. This gives a major advantage to Service Providers, offering PCI and USB solutions to their customers. Both design concepts are using patent pending Safe-BusTM (innovative hardware encryption technology) and FlexParserTM (PID filtering, IP Uni-Cast and multicast filtering, MAC filtering) technology, giving major security and flexibility advantages to users.
