Prince of Wales Volunteers South Lancashire Regiment Officers Badge. Belonging to Cecil Wallis. Killed in action 1918
There is a poignant little note that goes with this Officers collar badge which reads:
“Regimental badge of the 5th S. Lancashire Regiment. From Cecil Wallis in 1915 Died of wounds at Le Treport Oct. 1918”
And on the other side
“This (I cannot make out this word) led to our introduction in 1915”
The word may possibly be 'handkie' - ie: handkerchief.
I have had the little note laminated to preserve it
