SAMOVARS: The Samovar is a large heated container used to boil water for tea. The word "samovar" literally translates as "self-brewer." Samovars are usually ornately decorated and are part of a traditional tea-drinking ceremony.
ALTHOUGH TRADITIONALLY A RUSSIAN SYMBOL MANY OTHER CULTURES LIKE THE BRITISH (USUALLY SILVER PLATED) OR ARABIC COUNTRIES LIKE IRAN MAKE USE OF SAMOVARS ON A DAILY BASIS. Samovars used to boil water for tea and are a staple in most Persian homes. Just like in Russian, Tea is a popular drink in Iran. Pretty much everyone begins their day with a cup of tea, drinks some more after each meal as well as some between meals.
Samovars was widely used in Russia to boil water for tea. Traditionally, a samovar was used for all household needs that required hot water, and almost all families possessed one. The samovar was a Russian invention of the mid-18th century that has become appreciated as an art object today.
ALTHOUGH ORIGINALLY A RUSSIAN HOUSEHOLD ITEM MANY RUSSIAN JEWS BROUGHT THE TEA DRINKING CUSTOM TO ISRAEL AFTER WW2.

HOW DOES A SAMOVAR WORKS:
A samovar has an urn-shaped tank with a chimney in the middle and a burner on top. Coals is placed in the chimney to heat the water in the surrounding tank, along with a small teapot on the burner. The teapot held a few spoonfuls of water that were mixed with tea leaves and other magical ingredients to create a potent elixir. Tea-drinkers poured a small amount of this steamy slurry into a teacup or glass, then filled their cups with hot water from the samovars spigot. The comfort and peace of richly-flavored tea ensued.
