Small French Hoard of Coins from Late-Medieval period to 1700s.

There are 12 old copper coins in this small hoard, mostly French from the 1600s and 1700s. I only identified one as I do not have the time at the moment. Please note that after 300 to 400 years the coins are well circulated and not in good condition.

Here is the one I identified :- CHATEAU-RENAUD : Prince Conti : 2 Deniers of 1603-05

François de Bourbon, Prince of Conti (19 August 1558 – 3 August 1614)

KM# 5 2 DENIERS (Double Tournois) : Copper : Obverse: Bust with Legend: F • DE • BOVRBON • P • DE• CONTI Reverse: Fleur-de-lis with legend: DOVBLE TOVRNOIS (1603-05) Chateu-Renaud is a small city in northern France near the Belgian border.

Francois de Bourbon, Prince Conti acquired the city when he married Louise Marguerite of Lorraine in 1605. After his death in 1614 Louise Marguerite ruled until she ceded the property to Louis XIII of France in 1629. Catalogues at R150 in fine condition.
