Turraea Obtusifolia

Common names included are Lesser Honeysuckle tree, Small Honeysuckle tree.  Kleinkamperfoelieboom (Afrikaans)  South African Tree Number:  296.1  

This is a highly ornamental shrub, with glossy dark green leaves.  The flower display in late summer is simply stunning, with plenty of showy white flowers against the contrasting dark green glossy foliage

It grows to about a meter tall, with a spread of 1.3 meters.  Suitable for large containers, rockery garden, or many other places in your garden.  This plant is indigenous in coastal forest, bushveld, coastal dunes and rocky outcrops on the east coast in E.Cape, KZN, Gauteng, Limpopo, North-West, Swaziland, Botswana and Zimbabwe.  

Needs sunshine, either all day, or morning or afternoon sun.  Good loam soil with a pH that is slightly acidic to neutral will be perfect, to keep this plant very happy.  Soil that is not perfect, can be impoved by the addition of plenty of compost
