The Smith Corona Sterling series of typewriters were on the higher end of features on portable typewriters that the company sold. It had features such as tab functions, ribbon color selector, and touch control. The design was extremely rugged and popular, which is why so many Smith Coronas were sold. A lot of the designs internally stayed the same for generations as well. You are getting a well-built portable typewriter that is a great starter for someone who wants to get serious about typing.
