Rare and collectable. A squat pot-shaped bowl ideal for complex English blends, this Mountbatten was made by the famous house of Charatan under their stringent apprentice programme, the original shape 8170 being referred to as a Belvedere. Essentially an apprentice piece made under the watchful eye of a Charatan Carver from top quality Charatan briar on Charatan tooling. Charatan, well-known for sourcing the best briar of the day, even supplied the famous Dunhill factory with briar blocks!
Sanitised and refurbished, shows some very minor chipping on the rim and very light tooth marks consistent with an estate pipe, otherwise in superb condition!
