A perfect rustic example of a cherrywood pipe, stamped WALLY FRANK LTD: REAL CHERRY: MADE IN FRANCE. Wally Frank was a well known New York tobacconist. The pipe was was quite likely manufactured by famous the French pipe manufacturer Ropp, given the long relationship between the two businesses. Frank, like other tobacconists, would often commission consignments of pipes from top European manufacturers to be manufactured and stamped with his name.
Given that the Wally Frank outlet closed during the late 60’s or early 70’s, the pipe must have some considerable age to it. Despite this, and although pre-smoked, the pipe is in outstanding condition, the only small issue being that the 'W' of the stamp is obscured.
