If you're after bold form and effortless style, the Snake Plant 'Golden Rose' is hard to beat. This compact cultivar stays under 20cm tall and grows in a tidy rosette, with broad, deep green leaves edged in golden yellow. The architectural shape and variegation make it a natural focal point on windowsills, desks or bedside tables.
Snake Plants are famously hardy and practically thrive on neglect, and this one is no different. 'Golden Rose' handles dry air, missed waterings, and dim corners with ease it's perfect for plant beginners or anyone wanting low-fuss greenery. And bonus: like other Sansevierias, it's known for filtering indoor air.
Light:
Tolerates a wide range of light conditions, from low light to bright indirect light. For best variegation, place it where it gets bright, filtered light. Avoid harsh midday sun, which can bleach the leaves.
💧 Water:
Water only when the soil is completely dry every 23 weeks depending on the season. In winter, stretch it to once a month. Always err on the dry side, as this plant is extremely drought-tolerant. Avoid letting water sit in the centre of the rosette.
🌱 Soil:
Prefers fast-draining soil. Use our Aroid Mix, or make your own with Barks Unlimited Potting Soil, Perlite, and a handful of coarse sand.
🌡 Temperature:
Ideal range is 1628°C. Keep it away from frost, cold drafts, or heaters. It's best grown indoors in winter in cooler areas.
🌸 Fertiliser:
Feed sparingly. Use a diluted balanced fertiliser once a month in spring and summer. Skip fertilising during winter.
💦 Humidity:
Adaptable to dry or average indoor humidity. No misting needed this plant prefers it dry.
