The main component of any induction cooker is an electromagnet which is fitted under the cooking surface.
An oscillating current is applied to the electromagnet, which produces an oscillating magnetic field.

This is the reason why an induction cooker can only work with cookware that is made from ferrous metals like cast-iron or
stainless-steel. Induction cookers do NOT work with non conducting cookware (glass, aluminium, copper or ceramic).
