Hardcover published 1944 by Eyre And Spottiswoode, no jacket. The boards are square and solid, but lightly handled and edge-worn, with several light marks in places. There is a crack to the binding at the inside front board, exposing some netting. The inside boards and first and last end-papers are tanned / foxed. There are two newspaper cuttings taped to the first end-paper and the title page. There is evidence of possible water damage to most of the pages, however the text is unaffected and the pages otherwise cleana nd unmarked.
