A seven kilometre boat ride takes you through Hell's Gate and away from the shadow of civilisation to a secluded sand forest refuge overlooking the fish rich waters of Lake St Lucia.
Straddling the Nibela Peninsula, this 235 hectare Private Game Reserve is all but covered by dense Sand Forest. Numerous walking trails are available to explore the reserve on foot. A shoreline trail takes you back to the very dawn of time as you pass over ancient fossil-littered seabeds while shaded forest walks offer up an amazing variety of birds, dazzling butterflies and botanical delights. A variety of big and small game also share this secluded paradise.Surrounded by water on three sides, Sobhengu offers excellent opportunities for landing Grunter, Bream and Salmon (kob). Those who prefer to indulge in the more refined art of salt water fly fishing can cast for Springer. Moorings are available for those who would like to bring their own boats.
