In the body 5-HT is converted into serotonin. Serotonin controls a variety of functions in the human body and brain. Inadequate serotonin is believed to play a role in depression and mood disturbances. Serotonin is also converted into melatonin in the pineal gland where it plays an important role in the human sleep cycle (circadian rhythm). SOLAL 5-HTP promotes healthy mood balance and sleep. Also, helps reduce cravings (such as for carbohydrates).
Per capsule: 5-Hydroxytryptophan 104,0 mg; Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine-5-phosphate) 18,0 mg
Adults (18 years and older): For mood: Take 1 capsule twice daily. For sleep: Take 1 or 2 capsules at night. Best taken on an empty stomach, either 1 hour before, or 2 hours after any food.
Do not use this product if you have a 5-HTP allergy. 5-HTP might interfere with surgical procedures due to serotonergic central nervous effects or serotonergic effects on the vascular system, for this reason usage of 5-HTP should be discontinued 2 weeks prior to elective surgical procedures. 5-HTP should be discontinued if any adverse reactions occur and a physician should be contacted. Some people may experience drowsiness from 5-HTP. Caution should be exercised when operating heavy machinery, driving a motor vehicle or if the patient is involved in activities requiring mental alertness.
