A floodlight that runs on sunlight. The lamp and the solar panel are separate pieces joined by a cable, so the lamp can go where you need light and the panel can go where the sun actually reaches. No wiring into the house and nothing on your electricity bill.
The panel charges a built-in battery during the day. The seller's figures are 4 to 6 hours of sun for 12 to 18 hours of light, so a clear day covers a long night.
Because the panel is separate, you can mount the lamp under an eave, inside a carport or on a shaded wall and still put the panel up on the roof line or a sunny fence.
Driveways, gates, the side of the house, a backyard braai area, a garage without power, a farm shed or a spaza stoep. Anywhere a light is needed and running a cable is a hassle.
The lamp housing is rated IP67, so rain and dust are not a problem, and it is made of ABS that does not rust.
Solar output depends on the sun. After a run of cloudy days it will not reach its full running time.
Point the panel north for the best charge in South Africa, and away from the shadow of trees and walls.
