Solar panel cells come in many sizes and power outputs often with confusing specifications or creative teminology...so lets add some clarity.

These cells develop a voltage directly proportional to the light input varying in voltage, they are most often connected in parallel or in series to match the output voltage required for your solar system battery.Most solar installations operate on 12V lead acid battery sealed or normal and require a charging float voltage not exceeding 13.6V typical therefore should only be used in conjunction with a suitable regulator not only to ensure a forward voltage of 13.6V max to prevent overcharge but to also ensure that the dark voltage reverse current flow is inhibited/blocked.

These cells are prefered to most other models because a) they are most cost effective and b) if one cell is damaged it can be replaced at partial cost rather than costing you thousands to replace a single larger more expensive cell.
