This helmet is as it was found. Note the following:
1. Base paint colour Desert Sand - probably used in North Africa during WW II;
2. Top paint colour Olive Drab as was used by the Union Defence Force;
3. Helmet has surface rust spots as per images;
4. The webbing chin strap has detiorated but the end bits on both sides are still in place;
5. The inner leather headband is in reasonable condition considering the helmet's age, it is brittle in spots with little tears;
6. The inner dome sponge is still in place with only a small bit missing;
8. The name A/Cpl DAVEY L.A. and part of number 735*3**M is written in what looks like pencil (probably indellible pencil) on the inside
