Betaine, hydrochloride and pepsin combine to create a formula that aids digestion by breaking up fats and proteins while simultaneously promoting the absorption of certain nutrients.

Betaine hydrochloride is also known as stomach acid ¿ the substance produced in the stomach that breaks down foods, especially proteins, into an easily digestible form. It destroys many of the potentially harmful organisms in our food, thereby acting as a protective barrier against food poisoning or infection. It also helps to rid our bodies of excessive concentrations of hydrogen ions in the blood and interstitial fluids because the production of stomach acid uses up large quantities of these hydrogen ions.
