This is a beautiful old solid silver serving spoon from Germany with an elegant fiddleback handle.

Excellent condition. Marked by the maker, Aumann, and also 750 which means 75% solid silver.

This was the normal silver alloy for cutlery for Germany in the 1800s. It ensures a wonderful shiny darkish appearance of solid silver but also is hard wearing enough for daily use ( sterling silver is too soft ).

An excellent investment piece and rand hedge which is practical and useful as a serving spoon. 23 cm long.
