Sodalite is a comparitively rare semi-precious stone found in the north-eastern section of Namibia near the Kunene. A deep blue mineral, often patterned with streaks of white, it strongly resembles lapis lazuli except without the flecks of pyrites. It is a scarce silicate of sodium, aluminium, and chlorine.
This is a very desirable object for display or investment. It is a perfect ball , hand carved and polished. This shape cannot be tumbled and it takes about a week to make. The ball is about 4.5 cm wide and weighs 161 grams which is 805 carats.
