Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is an enhanced version of SEGA's kart racer built to take advantage of Switch 2's extra power while keeping full compatibility with the original Switch ecosystem. You race across land, sea, air, and even space on 24 tracks, using Travel Rings to warp midrace into 15 different "CrossWorlds" dimensions, each changing the layout and hazards on the fly. This edition boosts resolution and frame rate, refines visuals, and folds in balance updates, new Gadgets, and online ranking features, making it a much smoother, contentrich alternative to the standard Switch version.
Ready, Set, Warp: Race on 24 tracks and warp into 15 CrossWorlds via Travel Rings, a mechanic that lets whoever leads choose the next dimension midrace so no two races feel identical.
Big roster: 23 playable characters from Sonic and SEGA universes, with more added postlaunch (including crossover guests like SpongeBob and Joker in updates).
Deep vehicle building: Mix 45+ unique vehicles with 70 Gadgets to tailor acceleration, handling, defense, and offensive tricks to your racing style.
Item chaos: 23 different powerup items, including returning classics and new options like the Monster Truck transformation, to disrupt rivals and shake up races.
Multiple modes:
Grand Prix and Time Trials for solo play
World Match ranked online
Friend Match custom online lobbies (up to 12 players)
Local splitscreen and a partyfocused Race Park mode for couch play.
Switch 2 enhancements: Higher resolutions (reports cite up to 1440p docked / 1080p portable) and a solid 60 fps in singleplayer and 2player splitscreen, plus new Gadgets and online leaderboards.
