The Main Event: The Debut of Knuckles
The centerpiece of this volume is the adaptation of the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 video game storyline.
The Deception: Sonic and Tails travel to the mysterious Floating Island, where they are immediately ambushed by Knuckles.
The Rivalry: Misled by Dr. Robotnik into believing that Sonic and Tails are there to steal the islands Chaos Emerald, Knuckles uses his knowledge of the terrain to trap the duo repeatedly.
The Realization: Eventually, the "Guardian of the Floating Island" realizes he is being played by the Doctor, leading to an uneasy alliance to stop Robotnik's latest scheme.
