The Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II is a telephoto zoom lens designed for professionals. This Sony G Master Series Mark II lens builds on the success of its predecessor, while lighter, it features improvements in all other areas.
The optical design delivers increased sharpness with a minimum of aberrations, that include an XA element, an aspherical element, two extra-low dispersion aspherical elements, two extra-low dispersion elements, and two Super ED elements.
To assist the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II Lens in reducing reflections, flare, and ghosting for improved contrast and colour the optical design also features Sony's latest Nano AR II Coating.
For fast, precise, and highly responsive autofocus for stationary subjects the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II Lens features four XD Linear motors, with two motors driving each of the internal focusing groups. The floating focus design divides the elements into two independently controlled groups for increased responsiveness, for both still and video applications, with speeds up to four times faster than its previous version design.
