SOUTH AFRICA 1939 30 XII 38 1st Flight cover from Johannesburg to Mumbwa, Barotseland Northern Rhodesia, signed by pilot. The first Barotseland airmail service from Lusaka to Mongu commenced on 2 Jan 1939. Connections from South Africa were made by SAA mail to Mankoya and Mumbwa was not delved until the first return flight the following morning on the 3rd Jan.,  very fine and very very scarce flight.
