Hardcover, published by Smith, Elder & Co, 1908 third impression, no jacket. The boards are clean, but the spine is cocked. All pages are still well bound, tissue frontispiece (a miniature portrait of Lady Anne Barnard, the author of the letters) separator is present and untorn. This is an ex-library book, a withdrawal sheet with several stamps on it is pasted onto one of the first end-papers, where there is also a library stamp. The pages are aged, some have a few spots and marks, and page 129 has what looks like a few wax crayon scribbles on it.
