About this Item

Near fine clean tight condition with illustrated pictorial wraps. Signed, inscribed, and dated 1993, by the author, on the half title page. There are white Tippex marks under the altered inscription. The author writes of his father, Captain Aron Friedmann, a Russian farm boy, who achieved a childhood ambition to become a captain of windjammer days, eventually becoming master of his own ship, the three-masted iron barque "Elizabeth" of 1310 tons.
