This book is a complete guide to the 139 known varieties, each of which is individually illustrated with a full-page, four-colour plate (with the exception of a few small varieties which are two to the page). Each plate is immediately accompanied by a full description of the Aloe which gives all necessary details concerning distribution, flowering time, height, etc. While Mrs. Jeppe scrupulously adheres to the scientific formalities, she preserves a simplicity of style which will give this book a wide appeal both to the professional botanist and the layman.

Purnell, 2nd impression 1970. Hard cover, 144 pages. Good condition. Tightly bound. A few minor marks in front and back. Cover has edgewear and a tear at the back.
